Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years and is a spiritual exercise of both the mental and the physical. Some practice it for relaxation, some for flexibility and some as a religious part of daily life. There are different types of Yoga that you should learn. While any style of Yoga will fit the requirements of calming the mind and spirit while toning the body, you might want to investigate the different forms. One of them is sure to be the style of Yoga you want to practice. Bikram Yoga is known as Hot Yoga, which is currently very much in fashion. This is one of the controversial types of Yoga which was developed by Bikram Choudhury. There are 26 poses of to be performed in a room heated to at least ninety-five degrees. The yoga enthusiasts believe that extreme temperature can relax and purify the body. The standard type of Yoga offered by most gyms is Hatha Yoga. This Hatha Yoga can be performed very easily by the students who have never partaken in a Yoga class before. This style incorporates most of the rudimentary Yoga poses which will be used in many other styles. Hatha Yoga can also be suitable for those who are less flexible or new to exercising since the movements are generally performed in a slow and deliberate fashion. There is another very popular type of Yoga and widely available is Vinyasa Yoga. This is also known as the Sun Salutations as it founded on a regimen of stretches. Vinyasa Yoga emphasizes movement synchronized with breathing. It requires limber body for more advanced stretches and much faster paced than Hatha Yoga. |
